Ade Collins the Prince of Wales

Ade Collins took the £500 first place prize fund away from the first ever full 1/2 mile Fair Ground Flat Track meeting, by winning the International All Stars Grand Final at Tir Prince Trotting Track, North Wales on Saturday 6th. The first heat races were run on a beautfully prepared track, with riders hitting 100+ and hardly slowing down for the corners, the racing fast furious but by heat 6 the rain begain to fall. After a 1/2 hour delay racing got under way again and the heat races were completed. Semi 1 saw a great battle of the 2 young guns Suzuki's Tim Neave and Pidcock Honda rider Tom Woolley and it was Tim who took the win just from Tom, with Mark Richardson 3rd and Glynn Pocklington and Superbike rider Johnny Ingram making his first Flat Track Final. In Semi 2 Ade Collins lead from start to finish, Ben Baker had a good second anf the battle was for third with Darren Trapmore ,Pete Boast and Ben Wells. Trapmore and Boast made it through but Wells came to grief on the last lap and former long track rider Andy Riley benfited with the final transfer spot. The Last Chance race was a right royal battle between Tim Greig, Dave Holman, Steve Coles, Neil Martin and Paul Baleta but it was Coles that took the win and Neil Martin on the Thunderbike got the last transfer spot. The Grand final lined up with 12 riders in one line on the wide Tir Prince track. Woolley and Collins hole shotted but Collins swept around the out side and took the lead from Woolley, Baker, Neave, Richardson, Boast and Trapmore. Collins pulled away from Woolley who in turn was leaving the battle in 3rd, with Neave trying to go round the outside of Baker. Boast and Richardson were swaping places every lap. Going into the last lap Collins had gone way out in front, Tom woolley was holding position from Ben Baker and Tim Neave who was battling it out still.
