| WHAT ELSE: | I started racing when I was 6 years old.
My dad raced in former days. Together we did work on different bikes. A friend of my dad, Jetze Valkema (grasstrack) and also
Wiebe Valkema (European Shorttrack Champion) tought me a lot of grasstrack and shorttrack racing.
| Now a days I learn a lot from Sietse Hilleger and Oege de Jong. They teach me about tires, tracks, routing, engines and general bike adjustements and settings. My first bike was a Yamaha PW. The followup was a 80cc Yamaha and after that a 125cc Yamaha. For two years I started with the four stroke YZF 250 and one year later a Yamha YZF 450. My current bikes are a Suzuki RMZ 450 and also a RMZ 250. This winter we hope to start working on a real flattrack bike. I look forward to race on the ”monster machines. This Year I will race the European Shorttrack Competition and also some rounds of the German Shorttrack Champion Ship and some rounds in the UK Shorttrack competition. On top of that I race the International Short track competition in Holland. A lot of races... but fun!!!! |
